Decide the hat size and prepare the pattern
Print it on A4 paper at actual size (100%) and check the size against your face. You can download the guide from the link below.

Choose either “A4” or “A3” print size and print at actual size (100%).

The pattern includes a 10 cm scale. Measure it with a ruler, and if it’s exactly 10 cm, it has printed at actual size.
Cut out and assemble the pattern
Cut out the pattern along the cutting lines.
Overlap the tabs with matching numbers and tape them together.
Cut out 4 types of pieces in total the same way.
Cut out the fabric
Cut two pieces each of Outer A, Outer B, and Lining A.
For example, if it says “×2,” cut one piece for the left and one for the right, for 2 pieces in total.
Mark the pattern
Cut away the “seam allowance” inside the dart on the Outer A pattern.
Layer the Outer A pattern you trimmed the “seam allowance” from onto the fabric you cut in step 3, and trace the dart.
Make snips about 5 mm long at the notches to mark them.
Trace the dart onto the other piece of fabric the same way, and snip the notches.

Trace the dart on Outer B the same way and snip the notches.
Outer B has 2 notches.
First, trace the 3 darts on Lining A.
Next, trace the 2 “stop-stitching points.”
Sew
Baste the 2 darts on Outer A, then sew along the lines you traced in step 4.
At the dart tip, don’t backstitch. Instead, leave the thread a little long, tie it in a firm knot, and you’ll get a clean dart.
Once the darts on Outer A are sewn, layer the left and right pieces with right sides together and sew down the center.
Sew the darts on Outer B too, then layer the left and right pieces with right sides together and sew down the center.
Layer the Outer A and B pieces you just sewed with right sides together and sew all the way around.
Baste the 3 darts on Lining A, then sew along the lines you traced in step 4.
For the lining, it’s fine to backstitch.
Once sewn, sew the darts on the other piece the same way.
Layer the two lining pieces with right sides together and sew the “head.”
Don’t sew between the “stop-stitching points,” leaving an opening there.
Insert the lining through the opening in the outer, layer them with right sides together, and sew all the way around the face and neck.
Snip into the seam allowance around the face and the neck so the fabric doesn’t pull when you turn it right side out.
Trim the seam allowance at the corners so they come out cleanly when you turn it right side out.
Turn it right side out
Reach in through the lining opening and turn the whole thing right side out.
Attach the hook-and-loop fastener
Cut a 25 mm-wide hook-and-loop fastener to 3 cm.
Rounding off the corners keeps it from hurting if it touches your skin.
Sew the hook-and-loop fastener onto the belt at the neck.
Attach the “hook side” to the outer and the “loop side” to the lining.
Add the stuffing
Stuff little by little through the opening at the back of the head.
Close the lining opening
Fold the seam allowance around the lining opening in by 1 cm and baste, then sew along the edge with the sewing machine to close the opening.
Finished
Tuck the lining back inside and shape it, and you’re done!
